Central Portland Community Announcements
As partners in the work with the Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice, we are invited to join in a monthly vigil. If you would like to carpool to these powerful experiences, please contact Ginny Feldman. The Prayer Vigils occur on the 2nd Thursday of each month at Noon at the corner of SW Macadam & SW Hamilton.
SIMPLY GIVING: ENJOY THE CONVENIENCE OF ELECTRONIC GIVING
We want to remind you that we offer electronic giving as a way to automate your regular weekly offering through a program called Simply Giving. Electronic giving offers convenience for members and provides much-needed donation consistency for our congregation.
Direct Debit Giving is used to automatically transfer funds from your checking or savings account to the church’s bank account.
Credit & Debit Card Giving allows you to make offerings automatically on a pre-determined schedule using a credit or debit card.
As you contemplate future contributions, please consider electronic giving. Download the form HERE.
Those who live in the Montavilla neighborhood are welcome to attend a monthly potluck hosted by the L’Arche Community. These meals occur on the first Thursday of each month from 6-8 PM at Taborspace (5441 SE Belmont).
“Open your hearts to friends with and without intellectual disabilities, discover a community of belonging and inclusion, and engage in activities and discussions that feed our spirit.”
donations for the Homeless
We are partnering with the homeless ministry at Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church. We have worshipped twice with this congregation in the summer. Pastor Amanda and several others know the church’s Pastor, Matt Hennessee, who walks with Connected.
Everything that was used at JOIN can be used at the Vancouver Avenue homeless ministry. Please continue to bring socks and underwear, hygiene items, clothes, towels, peanut butter and jelly. Place them in the blue bin in the fellowship room and they will go to those in need. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Carolus. Thanks always for your care for others.
