Help Needed for the Family of Shawn Scott, Jr.

Shawn Scott, Jr. (17 yr old) was murdered in Holladay Park on Tuesday, April 11th. He was a key provider for his family. The Office of Youth Violence Prevention, Connected, and the Interfaith Peace and Action Collaborative are all working together to support Shawn’s family. All manner of basic household goods are welcome as well as gift cards to Walmart, WinCo, or Fred Meyer. CLICK HERE for a list of suggestions as well as the contribution coordinators’ contact information.

A New Directory is Coming!

Our goal is to publish by Pentecost. In order to do this we need everyone to take a few minutes and fill out the Church Data form. Please take the time to help us do this work.
Please fill out one form for each baptized member of your household.
There are two ways to get this information to the office:

Paper Forms Pick up printed forms on Palm Sunday or Easter, fill them out, and hand them in.
OR Download the paper form HERE, print it, fill it out, and hand it in.

Online Forms Click HERE to use the online form. If you need more than one form, you will have the option to fill out an additional form as each form is completed.

donations for the Homeless

The day space at JOIN has been closed for about 4 months due to a mold problem in the walls. I have been bringing your donations there, but they have little room for storage.

So I am going to start bringing Central’s donations to the homeless ministry at Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church. We have worshipped twice with this congregation in the summer. Pastor Amanda and several others know the church’s Pastor, Matt Hennessee, who walks with Connected.

Everything that was used at JOIN can be used at the Vancouver Avenue homeless ministry. Please continue to bring socks and underwear, hygiene items, clothes, towels, peanut butter and jelly. Place them in the blue bin in the fellowship room and they will go to those in need. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Carolus. Thanks always for your care for others.

Central Lutheran Church wants to remind you that we offer electronic giving as a way to automate your regular weekly offering through a program called Simply Giving.  Electronic giving offers convenience for individual congregation members and provides much-needed donation consistency for our congregation.

Direct Debit Giving is used to automatically transfer funds from your checking or savings account to the church’s bank account.

Credit & Debit Card Giving allows you to make offerings automatically on a pre-determined schedule using a credit or debit card.

As you contemplate future contributions, please consider electronic giving.  Download the form HERE.
