Christianity
101
In the early church, pagans had to learn how to be Christian.
Ditto in the 21st century America. Lots of adults churched
and unchurched know little about the Christian faith. We aim
to meet that challenge by offering a class based on a Christian
education model adapted from the ancient church. That model is
known as "The Catechumenate". We just call it "Christianity 101."
Do you want to deepen your faith? Have you ever
wanted to know more about the Bible and church tradition? Would
you like to
join with others in prayer and faithful conversation? Then
you should consider taking "Christianity 101."
Who should enroll in "Christianity 101"?
- Adults who want to be baptized
- Newer Christians who want to deepen their faith
- Older Christians who want to grow beyond Sunday School
- Those who are hungry for prayer and Bible study
- Anyone who wants to cultivate Christian
community
We form a group; gather weekly (more or less) on Sunday
afternoon; check in to see how the week has gone; do
a brief Bible
study; pray; eat together; and finally learn about one element of
Christian faith and life. From time to time we will recognize the group
during Sunday worship with blessings and prayers. All
are welcome to join in this study. |
