Evangelism Ministries

The Evangelism Team takes its inspiration from the words of a favorite Christmas songs: "Go Tell It". We need to tell our stories of God's presence in our lives not only on the mountain, but anywhere the demands of our busy lives take us. And given tools, training and support, any of us can "go tell it."

To support the people of Central Lutheran Church in this mission and raise our profile in the community, the Evangelism Team has designed and sold CLC T-shirts, purchased a larger ad in the yellow pages, placed rainbow colored decals in the windows and doors claiming CLC as a welcoming and affirming congregation, and sponsored Friendship Sunday, where members brought friends and family to Sunday services. The upgraded web site was planned and implemented by Sue Cushing and other members of the Evangelism team, in conjuction with Vicky Charlston, Sandy Keyser, and web designer Youngmi Choi. The Visitor's Packets in the pews were designed by Sue Cushing, with the encouragement and gratitude of the rest of the team. Upcoming plans include: the sale of CKC sweatshirts, a Sunday evangelism workshop, marching in the Gay Pride Parade in 2007, and sponsoring a design contest for the 2007-2008 CKC T-shirt and sweat shirt. Another Friendship Sunday is planned for the spring.
