Membership at Central Lutheran Church

Central receives new members several times a year on certain festival Sundays:

New members are received either through a rite called "Affirmation of Baptism" for baptized Christians, or through Holy Baptism for those not yet baptized. The two rites are woven into one ritual, since the promises made and gestures enacted are similar for both.

Currently, membership orientation varies for each person depending on their background and needs. Central offers a program called "Christianity 101" in the winter-spring period for members new and old who wish to learn more about basic practices, values, and doctrines of the Christian faith.

People often attend worship at Central for six to twelve months before deciding to join. As you consider whether Central is the right church for you, please feel free to speak with Pastor Brandt or other members you may meet. We will be glad to help you in discernment about joining Central.
