Mark your calendar today¡¦ Yard Sale¡¦
July 14th & 15th
The Yard Sale Committee is rarin¡¯ to go - and because we believe the benefits
far out weigh the work involved, we¡¯re going to hold the Yard Sale again
for the following reasons:
- It¡¯s a GREAT way to get to know other members of the congregation
while accomplishing
something for the church;
- It offers many CHOICES for ways to contribute;
- Donate merchandise to sell
- Give your time for pricing, presales, Ebay sales, hauling & moving,
storage & more
- Participate the days of the sale setting up, selling, providing food,
cleaning up, whatever
- It¡¯s a project that includes EVERYONE and everyone¡¯s efforts are greatly
appreciated.
- It has a clear goal, and a definite beginning and ending, i.e. no
lingering commitments!
- There are great BARGAINS to be had! Judging from last year¡¯s performance,
the old adage:
¡°one person¡¯s junk is another person¡¯s treasure¡±
is certainly true at Central.
- And, the yard sale brings much needed outside dollars into the congregation.
It¡¯s goin¡¯ to be a stretch! We are going to hold the sale 2 days again
this year!!
We have set our goal again this year at $9,000 and will need lots of
volunteers to help us reach that goal. Don¡¯t have much time? We hear you;
that¡¯s true for all of us. So, we¡¯ve designed an action plan based on the
principle that many hands make for light work. The project extends over
6 weeks. We start collecting merchandise on June 4th, (after Sunday School
closes for summer vacation). Two (2) pricing teams are scheduled each week
thereafter until the Yard Sale on July 14th & 15th. If you can contribute
your time for one or more of those days, or on the days of the sale, you
would be lifting the burden for everyone.
Have you cleaned your closets?
Don¡¯t forget about family, friends, and neighbors, who would be
thrilled to have you remove some of the unwanted stuff from their lives.
Or, make it easy on yourself and suggest they drop their things off at
the church anytime between 9:30am and 5:00pm weekdays from June 1st through
July 5th. Remember, we¡¯re looking for merchandise in good repair, AND big
items such as cars, boats, BBQ¡¯s, trailers, motorcycles, collectibles
- anything that boosts revenue.
