This ministry reaches out to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people, their families, friends, and allies. Rainbow ministers can be identified by their rainbow name tags.
In response to the call in Romans 15:7 to "welcome one another therefore as Christ has welcomed you for the glory of God," we, the members of Central Lutheran Church, join hands with all our sisters and brothers regardless of race, age, gender, marital status, physical and mental abilities, sexual orientation, national origin, or economic status. We celebrate both the diversity of God’s family and our unity as God’s people.
WHY MARRIAGE MATTERS: FAITHFUL CONVERSATION WORKSHOP
January 25, 9:30 AM-Noon; Fellowship Hall
In November 2014, Oregonians will vote on changing the constitution to allow marriage of same-gender couples. Research has shown that having a simple conversation with someone, especially a person of faith, doubles the chance that they will support the freedom to marry. Learn how to gracefully engage friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, and others in conversation in order to use one of the most powerful tools for changing hearts and minds about the freedom to marry.
Faithful Conversation workshop will be held here at Central on January 25 from 9:30 AM–Noon. No cost. Mark your calendar; bring your friends.

Message delivered by Bishop Rick Jaech (SW Washington Synod)
St. Andrew Lutheran Church
5607 NE Gher Rd, Vancouver, WA 98662
Bishop Jaech was elected bishop of the Southwestern Washington Synod of the ELCA in June. He previously served at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Vancouver.
Annually, the last Sunday in January is designated by the ecumenical welcoming community as Welcoming Sunday. On this day, worshippers are encouraged to join other welcoming congregations in celebrating God's love for persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities, their friends, and their families. YOU will be truly welcome!
