Worship Team

Pastor Brian Brandt and Director of Music Janis Lord guide Central's Worship Leaders. The Worship Committee plays a supporting role. They serve as a sounding board for planning. They also help with logistics.

Assisting Ministers are also key Worship Leaders. Central has a crew of several lay members who serve as Assisting Ministers for worship services. They lead the prayers, lead singing, and generally serve as stage managers for the worship service.

Director of Handbells and Children's Music Linda J. Bergman leads a group of handbell players who grace Central's worship service once a month with their celestial music. Kids under Linda's direction also play an important role in leading music for worship.

Additionally, Central has several types of Worship Assistants.

  • Lectors: lay members who read scripture passages during worship.
  • Communion Assistants: help the pastor serve Holy Communion.
  • Acolytes: kids or adults who light candles and put them out.
  • Anointing Ministers: people who give blessings for healing when we do a healing ritual on the second Sunday of each month.

Last but not least, the Ushers hand out bulletins at the beginning of each worship service, and help people as they come to take the bread and wine of Holy Communion.

Every member of Central's Worship Leader group helps to create a rich and lively worship environment at Central. We always need more people to serve on the team. You are welcome, too!
