What can I expect?
Grace ● Welcome ● Invitation ● Music ● Communion ● Prayer ● Action
Come as you are, come as who you are, come knowing that you are welcome here. Wear what you are comfortable wearing. Any given Sunday you will see shorts, suits, dresses or pants … wear whatever brings you comfort and joy.
As you enter, pick up a bulletin, it will guide you through the service. We also use hymnals found in the pews, because we like to save paper and we like to sing in harmony (when we can).
If you get lost along the way …don't worry about it. This is a place of grace, let us carry each other.
Each week we offer a children's sermon. This is a time for the children of the congregation (who wish to come forward) to know that they are an important part of our service and community. Children are then welcome to stay with us through the remainder of the service or retire to the play area.
Central also has a tradition of welcoming the children of the congregation to come forward to play percussion during the closing hymn. There are shakers for even the smallest hands!
As adults, we follow the Revised Common Lectionary, which provides our readings from the Bible each week. Then Pastor Amanda weaves in how those lessons can help us deal with today’s world. We welcome you to hear samples of Pastor Amanda’s Sermons:
Communion / Meal
All are welcome to receive communion at Central Lutheran. We serve the meal weekly to anyone wishes. If handicapped we will come to you. We do our best to offer inclusive options like gluten free and celiac safe options. We offer wine and grape juice. Children commune at the discretion of their parents/guardians.
On the first Sunday of the month we also welcome those who wish to come forward to the chancel to kneel or stand at rails. On the second Sunday of the month we offer healing prayer and anointing during this time.
Each week we are sent out into the world to live out our faith. Our announcements remind us of opportunities to serve. You are as welcome to join us in action as you are welcome to join us in worship.
